Look at the home above. White brick, board-and-batten siding, black window frames, and a row of slim black metal awnings that tie the whole facade together. Those awnings are not an afterthought. They are the detail that turns a nice new build into the house people slow down to photograph. And every one of them is powder-coated aluminum, custom-built to the exact width of each window and garage door at our factory in Tampa, Florida.
Residential metal awnings are having a moment, and for good reason. Homeowners, builders, and architects across the country are moving away from fabric that fades and wood that rots, and toward clean, structural aluminum that looks sharp on day one and just as sharp a decade later.
The modern farmhouse and coastal-contemporary styles lean on contrast: light walls, dark trim, simple geometry. A flat or low-slope metal awning in a matte or satin black finish reads like an extension of the window frame. It shades the glass, sheds rain away from the sill, and adds depth to a flat wall without any of the fuss of a fabric valance.
On the home pictured, the awnings run in three places: above the upper-floor windows, across the lower bank of windows, and over both garage doors. Notice how the projections and drops are proportioned to each opening. That is the advantage of custom fabrication. We build every metal awning to your measurements rather than forcing a stock size onto your house.
Flat-panel awnings like the ones shown are the most requested style for contemporary homes. They can be wall-mounted with concealed hangers for a floating look or supported by slim rods or knee braces for a more industrial feel. For traditional homes we also build standing seam awnings with a gentle pitch, concave and convex profiles, and door hoods sized for single entries. Every style is available in the same powder-coat palette and the same woodgrain finishes, so a whole home can be coordinated from the front door to the back patio.
We manufacture every residential metal awning at 4608 N Hale Ave in Tampa on our Build / Crate / Ship model. You send us the opening dimensions and photos, we engineer and fabricate the awnings, powder-coat them, crate them for freight, and ship them factory-direct to your job site. Local installers or a capable contractor can mount them with the included hardware and drawings. Homeowners in Tampa Bay and the coastal Carolinas make up a big share of our work, but we ship residential metal awnings to all fifty states every week.
If you are building new, refreshing a facade, or simply tired of replacing fabric, residential metal awnings are one of the highest-impact upgrades per dollar you can make. Send us your window and door measurements and a few photos, and we will come back with a design and a factory-direct price. Call 813-249-0059 or email sales@metalawnings.com to get started.
